Power is provided by a 4-Stroke, 1170cc, Air / Oil cooled, OHV, Flat Twin engine with Electric starter. The engine is paired with The R 1200 RT rides on Aluminum wheels with a 120/70 ZR17 front tire and 180/55 ZR17 rear tire. The front suspension is a Telescopic Fork while the rear suspension is a Single Sided Swing Arm. Front Dual Hydraulic Disc brakes and rear Hydraulic Disc brakes provide stopping power. The R 1200 RT comes standard with a Two-Piece, 2-passenger seat.
