The 2006 Ducati 1000SS DS is addressed for those riders who prefer an air-cooled engine, but still want trademark Borgo Panigale styling and performance from their machine. It comes with a 43mm Showa fully-adjustable upside-down fork, a fully-adjustable Ohlins monoshock with a progressive cantilever linkage as a rear suspension, Brembo brakes with dual front discs and a single disc in the rear, a steel, trellis frame, a dual exhaust system, a dual seat with a passenger grab handle, a full-fairing with a small windscreen and red cast-aluminium wheels.Also, it has, at its heart, a four-stroke, fuel-injected, air-cooled, 992cc, 90-degree V-Twin desmodromic powerplant that was paired to a six-speed manual transmission with a chain final drive and a dry clutch, and can produce a claimed 86 horsepower and 88 Nm of torque.
